"I am Frances Marquez, and I am asking for your vote for City Council.
COVID-19 altered our lives dramatically. Change is not easy, but if we come together, Cypress will persevere.
As your City Councilmember, I will make it my top priority to keep our residents safe and protect our local economy. I will help secure relief for our seniors and small businesses.
When I worked in government, I advocated for better access to health and childcare for our veterans. I also secured funding for the STARBASE program at the Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Base, which encourages fifth-grade students to study science and math.
Now, I teach deaf and hard of hearing students and mentor them to pursue careers in public service.
I’m the daughter of a Korean War Veteran and our family has called Cypress home since 1974. I attended quality schools such as Damron and Vessels Elementary, Lexington Junior High, and Cypress High School, enabling me to earn my Bachelor’s Degree from UCLA, and a Masters and Doctorate from Claremont Graduate University.
Cypress provided me with a strong foundation for a successful life. I want to ensure every community member has the same opportunity.
I will put my skills and experience to work for you."
